Inside: Soby's on the Side
And thus the restaurant gods spake, saying, "Who sayeth that all restaurants in Downtown Greenville have to be expensive? We give unto you a smaller, more breakfast-and-lunch oriented version of Soby's, an already popular downtown eatery. And due to its proximity and tinier size, we shall classify it as being ‘On the Side,' because that is both a fitting and cute way to explaineth what it is. And those who dine there shall know it to be economical and tasty."
At least, that's how I imagine that Soby's On the Side came to be. I suppose it could also have been opened in 2001 by Soby's owners Carl Sobocinski and David Williams, but that's a far less epic explanation, don't you think?
