It may feel like college night on Tuesdays, but this is a great day to visit Mellow Mushroom, a popular chain with restaurants in Asheville, Spartanburg and Clemson. From 4-8 p.m. on Tuesdays, pints are $2.25. And that’s all pints including Guinness, Bass, Sierra Nevada and Newcastle. It has a laid-back, family hangout atmosphere early before transitioning into more of a Pub scene. There are hippie type drawings on the wall and funky menu item names. Some popular pizzas are the house pesto, magical mystery tour and “Kosmic Karma.” There are also calzones and hoagies like the jerk chicken, BLT or Tofu.
Metromix readers voted Mellow Mushroom for Best Pizza 2010; they were nominated for Best Pizza 2011.
