Inside: Pomegranate on Main
Credit:Mykal McEldowney
Flatbread is served as an appetizer, and that’s also part of the Persian dining tradition. The bread at Pomegranate is made in-house, and it’s served with feta cheese, fresh mint and basil. “We try to teach people about this, what’s behind it," says owner Hashem Basam. "When you have the bread with the feta cheese and the mint and the basil, it’s really refreshing. Unfortunately, a lot of people are thinking, ‘They’re garnishing their feta cheese and their butter.’ We say, ‘No, that’s not a garnish.’”
