With more than 30 years in pizzeria experience, this family-owned business is a local favorite. The dough and sauces are made in house, and they've gotten a five-star reviews from critics and Metromix readers alike. The pizza menu features olive-oil based pies, white pizzas or build-your-own options.

Mellow Mushroom has the funky vibe of a college town pizza bar. The hippie theme continues down all the way into the pizza selections with far out vegetarian options along with munchies-quenching meat-loaded pies.
Metromix readers voted Mellow Mushroom for Best Pizza 2010; they were nominated for Best Pizza 2011.
Tito's

Greenville, SC 29609This local pizzeria has been on the "best pizza" shortlist for years. Tito's uses dough and sauces made in-house. You can build your own or go for one of the "house favorites" like the Napoli pizza, which is topped with cut tomatoes, garlic and basil or the Tito's Deluxe which is piled with peperoni, mushrooms, onion, peppers, sausage, ham, beef olives and banana peppers.

Providing the area with just about everything it needs, Greenridge Plaza offers a great pizzeria. Only its no normal pizzeria. This unique establishment is nice enough for a date night. The menu is more than just pizza, but that's what they're on the list for, so that's what we'll look at. The menu is broken down into "classics" like peperoni and mushroom "veggin' out," which are meatless, like the pear and gorgonzola and the "goin' to Cali" section which features pizzas with a modern zing like the spicy shrimp pizza.

Antonino Bertolo's Pizza and Wine Bar

Bertolo's has pizza by the pie or pizza by the slice. The Downtown location's late-night window has prevented many a hangover headache. But if you need a dinnertime pizza, they have the pizzas you'd expect plus standouts like the Margherita pizza, barbecue chicken pizza and a bacon double cheeseburger pizza.

Barleys is a staple and features build-your-own pizzas and calzones with fresh ingredients including roasted red peppers, artichokes, spinach, black beans, beefalo, green chilies, sun-dried tomatoes and olives, plus the staple ingredients like pepperoni and mushrooms. Specialty pizzas like the Caribbean chicken with smoked gouda or the Thai chicken pizza go along with the 64 beers on tap plus specialty bottles. Metromix readers voted Barley's Best Bar for Beer 2010.
