Pretty Good Dance Moves, 'Limo'
Jimmy Giannopoulos and Aaron Allietta conjure up a highbrow version of classic, ’80s-inspired synth-pop on “Limo,” a 32-minute album divided into eight untitled “movements.” About half the album is instrumental; the other half is laced with the alluring vocals of Brazilian Girls’ Sabina Sciubba. Despite their name, Pretty Good Dance Moves are more interested in setting the mood than making you move, although a few drum machine beats do creep into the mix. For fans of the more experimental sides of classic synth bands like Yaz and the Human League, “Limo” offers a seductive ride. –AH
