Joe Jonas, 'FastLife'
The Jonas Brothers have enjoyed great popularity among tweens for their roles in many Disney Channel movies and TV shows, but as Nick Jonas' solo effort last year proved, success on Disney doesn't always translate to album sales. Middle child Joe Jonas has his work cut out for him with his first solo album, "FastLife," for which he has been aided by A-list writers like James Faunterloy and Chris Brown. Despite bringing the big guns, if the title track is indicative of the rest of the album, Jonas seems to be trying to pull a Timberlake-esque transformation and falling short—all flash, but nothing more than cookie-cutter music and lyrics. At 22, Jonas has to straddle the gap between teen pop idol and maturing musician; perhaps it will take a few more endeavors before he can make the leap.–LM
