Blondie, 'Panic of Girls'
Due out: Sept. 13
This sequel to the 1979 classic, "Parallel Lines"…kidding! Actually, the first album in eight years from disco/New Wave veterans Blondie is clearly an attempt to remake the legendary band, bringing in young-gun producers Kato Khandwala (Paramore, the Pretty Reckless) and Jeff Saltzman (the Killers, Fischerspooner) to give Blondie's classic sound a 21st century upgrade. Lead single "Mother" sounds promising, but based on the lukewarm responses to recent comeback attempts by other New Wave acts like the Cars and OMD, Deborah Harry and co. face an uphill battle if they hope to get fans excited about the new tunes.
