Grace Jones, 'Hurricane'
Due out: Sept. 6
"This is my voice/My weapon of choice." With those words, one of the most fascinating and provocative figures in popular music kicks off her first set of new material in two decades. Originally released overseas in late 2008, Jones' first album since 1989's "Bulletproof Heart" sounds both remarkably fresh and of a piece with her '80s New Wave reimaginings of songs like the Police's "Demolition Man" and Iggy Pop and David Bowie's "Nightclubbing." The album features collaborations with trip-hop pioneer Tricky and hitmaking duo Wendy and Lisa (of Prince and the Revolution fame). A bonus disc features instrumental "dub" versions of all nine of the album's tracks.
