Tamar Braxton
Soul, hip hop and R&B royalty showed up in full force in Atlanta, Ga., for the 23rd Soul Train Awards—third annual since the show's revival in 2009—hosted by the almost indefatigable Cedric the Entertainer. "I'm out of breath," he said at one point, after a vigorous bout of pop and locking. "My leg hurt, and that was this morning when I was just making a sandwich." Stars like Common, Lalah Hathaway, T.I., Keri Hilson and Earth, Wind & Fire strutted the red carpet and broke it down onstage; the order of the night included an extensive tribute to rapper/producer/actor Heavy D, who died earlier in the month. Also honored was Gladys Knight (of "& the Pips" fame) who received the Legend Award.
