“Precious” Screenplay by Geoffrey Fletcher
"Precious" was Fletcher's first produced screenplay and his victory is an upset over Golden Globe and WGA winner "Up in the Air." He becomes the first black winner of a screenplay Oscar.
Fletcher also works as an adjunct film professor at Columbia University and New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in New York City. His next project is a script about the 1971 Attica prison rebellion for director Doug Liman ("The Bourne Identity").
