With the introduction of Raoul Silva, Javier Bardem, right, joins a 23-film history of archenemies of James Bond, played here by Daniel Craig in the latest movie Skyfall.
"A Bond villian is a genre in itself," says Bardem. "I knew that when I jumped in. There have been so many great actors playing these roles." Longtime Bond producer Barbara Broccoli says that without the baddies, there would really be no Bond. "The villains are so vitally important," she says.
