Beyonce is going to reveal more about herself than ever before to fans in a feature-length HBO documentary film.

The usually private superstar is directing the film about her life. It is expected to show raw and unprecedented access to Beyonce and her performances. It is set to air Feb. 16.

"HBO has a history of pushing every boundary with class and authenticity," Beyonce said in a statement. "This film was so personal to me, it had to have the right home."

The film will strip away all the glitz and glamour to show the many aspects of the Grammy-winning singer's life, which include her as a businesswoman, songwriter, actress, wife and mother. Additionally, the wife of music mogul Jay-Z will share reflections of some life-changing events via first-person footage, shot on her laptop.

She'll cover her childhood, early stages as an entrepreneur and concert preparation. She will also discuss her return to the spotlight after the birth of daughter Blue Ivy Carter in January.
