Lady chefs do Lazy Goat

With Kathryn Bigelow recently becoming the first woman to win an Oscar for directing and women hauling in 12 of the United States' 37 medals at the 2010 Winter Olympics, women are all the rage these days. We're just being silly, of course—women always rock. But sometimes it's nice to single out the accomplishments of females apart from their male counterparts.

Such is the case with the "Lady Chefs" dinner and wine pairing being held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 18 at The Lazy Goat. The multi-course menu includes dishes from Chef Michelle Weaver of Charleston Grill, Chef Victoria Moore of The Lazy Goat and Pastry Chef Teryi Youngblood of Soby’s.

The menu includes hors d’oeuvres paired with Juve y Camps Reserva de la Familia Brut Nature Cava; ceviche made with Nantucket bay scallops, yuzu and apple mint paired with Licia Albarino Rias Biaxas; shaved fennel and arugula salad paired with Argiolas Costamolino Vermetino; spin rossa polenta with chanterelle mushrooms, grilled raddichio and white truffle fondue paired with San Polo Rubio Montalcino; cocoa braised short ribs with black bean and corn arepas paired with Ognissole Primitivo; and tres leches with rhododendron frozen yogurt and mango and passion fruit gelee paired with Jorge Ordonez Seleccion Especcial Moscate.
