Check out the Trail of Terror on the eastside of Greenville. It's incredibly scary. Learn more about it on the public Facebook page by searching Greenville Trail of Terror on FB or or watch a 2 minute video of past Trail of Terror highlights by searching the same terms on You Tube. It's only $7.00 and benefit's youth swimming in the Upstate.

Ukulele Melee! is Greenville's first Uke Night open to the public and the first one happens at this gallery on Oct 15. So, I'm heading back here again. Should be a fun evening of ukulele music and screening of the film Mighty Uke. Starts with a group ukulele lesson and sing-along followed by an informative discussion led by Russ Morin about how a ukulele is made. Russ is a local luthier. Ukes are welcome, bring your uke! This is a great craft gallery, so there will be an exhibition of ukuleles too!

I'm attending an art gallery opening reception on August 6, at McDunn Gallery. The show features paintings by Mark Flowers. At once you see that Mark Flowers thrives on surface, texture, and the juxtaposition of found objects with imagery converging to feed the viewer's curiosity. This is storytelling -- these are story boards. Titles such as "Leaving the Window Open", "Back In The Game", and "Renovation", give you a sense of what might be happening in the artist's daily life. Maybe these are his personal stories, maybe these are about observations of others. Perhaps both, but you'll find a third possibility, too. These might be stories about you. This show runs through September 1, 2011 at McDunn Gallery in Greenville SC.

ClaytonKale commented on Bands rocking this year's Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive
Hi Sharon. The city of Greenville lines up the bands for Downtown Alive, and they line up the whole season at once. But I bet they'd take your recommendation for future years.

Could you look into possibly getting Benton Blount as a possible group for Downtown Alive..? He was voted Greenville County Music Singer for the Scene Setter award on Scene at 7 and was also a Chief's Idol. He rocked the house last week at Wild Wings with a wonderful concert. Would love to see him on a stage for Downtown Alive. Thanks

A huge thanks to everyone who came out and patiently waited in line, even in the rain on Saturday! This kind of support for local art is why I love Greenville!

Fountain Inn Farmers Market is fantastic! The new building is beautiful and airy, lots of space and airflow, you don't feel closed in at all!. Theres plenty of parking and lots of friendly vendors!. Beautiful Fresh and Organic Vegetables (at really low prices!), Happy Cow Creamery Milk, Cheeses, Fresh Harvest Breads (my total downfall), a Fantastic Couple that sell the most amazing Crepes, Baugettes and Madelines, Beautiful Handcrafted Natural Soaps, The most Delicious Honey (goes beautifully with the breads!), Air Popped Popcorn, Gorgeous Flowers. Its a Great Morning out!

Bravo to all the courageous people participating in this worthy event!!! Be STRONG! Don't let the protestors intimidate you. Hold you heads up high, for all of you are HONORABLE people, to feel the fear, and DO IT ANYWAY! God LOVES us ALL!

tomcat79 commented on Clemson vs. USC baseball at Fluor Field
As a Clemson fan I wish the caption under your first few pictures was correct. Clemson did win the Friday and Sunday games in the Reedy River Rivalry series, but Carolina won on Saturday, 7-5. The game was exciting and the turnout was fantastic - I hope they continue to do this every year!
