Katharine McPhee vows to end malaria
At the end of March, Smash star and American Idol finalist Katharine McPhee traveled to Ghana and Burkina Faso with Malaria No More, which works to fight the mosquito-borne illness throughout Africa.
"I like to be involved in things that you can, in the foreseable future, see be resolved," she tells USA TODAY's Arienne Thompson. "I feel like (ending) malaria – like hunger here in the United States – is easily attainable."
McPhee shares her exclusive photo journal from the trip, where she handed out mosquito nets to local schoolchildren like 3-year-old Fadila.
