Edie Falco has gone dark!

The actress, who has pretty much been a blonde since the days of The Sopranos, debuted the new 'do at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

"I'm very newly brunette. I haven't quite gotten used to it yet," she told USA TODAY"s Bryan Alexander.

And she says it's for a good reason - she'll soon be lighting up an off-Broadway stage. She opens in previews on Feb. 5 at the Manhattan Theatre Club playing a kindergarten teacher in The Madrid.

Anything different about going from blonde to brunette? "So far, so good," she says. "My children are treating me the same."

The actress was up for a SAG in the female actor in a comedy category. Showtime's Nurse Jackie show was also nominated in the comedy series category.
