Interior-wise, Chicken and Waffles has a lean, contemporary feel. Light fixtures dangle in row from the ceiling over the U-shaped bar. Exposed brick and green-hued concrete floor give the place some masculine appeal without trying too hard or putting dead animals on the wall. The bar and grill’s Internet jukebox blasted R & B hits, from dated-sounding Lionel Ritchie’s ’80s smashes to eternally smoking Otis Redding cuts.
