The grub

The appetizer menu at Smiley’s is filled with delicacies like homemade pimiento cheese with celery and crostini, and bacon wrapped marinated shrimp. I ordered the Caribbean jerk chicken skewers, and while they were smaller than I expected when they arrived, the chicken pieces and pineapple ginger relish served with it packed a powerful flavor that more than made up for it. The chicken was moist, and with a terrific blend of spicy kick and sweetness. And the relish had a fresh, Caribbean taste that gave me the feeling I should have a mojito in my other hand.
