The vibe

The décor in Smiley’s catches your attention as soon as you walk in the door. The first thing you’ll notice will most likely be the row of cellos and violins hanging from the ceiling in front of the bar. Other instruments are mounted on the exposed brick walls, and colorful oil portraits also dot the walls.

A raised stage sits next to the front entrance, and the bar and a scattering of tables share the rest of the indoor area. Through a hallway at the back, though, you can head outside to the back deck, a cozy affair, where live music is offered on “West End Thursdays.”
